About The Rhode Island Nurse Honor Guard
The Rhode Island Nurse Honor Guard was formed in June 2024. We honor the contributions made by Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. She established the first school of nursing in 1860. To this day, nurses recite the Nightingale Pledge during their training, promising to devote themselves to the welfare of those committed to their care.
